To cook a core in Dimraeth, use a Campfire to cook Droop Core into Roasted Droop Core in the Cooking category. The recipe lists 1 Droop Core as its ingredient. Do not substitute Droop Gelo: the two materials have separate names and recipe connections.
Here, “core” means the named Droop Core ingredient. It does not mean that every monster material with a core-like icon can be roasted. Check the ingredient and the result name before crafting, especially if you also need your cores for Weak Magic Extract or a spellbook.
Identify Droop Core before using it
Open the material's tooltip or its Crafting Codex entry and read the full name. Droop Core is the ingredient connected to Roasted Droop Core. Droop Gelo is another material, not a different spelling of the same ingredient.

Droop Core is separate from Droop Gelo. Its connected recipes include Roasted Droop Core.
The Droop Core entry connects the raw material to both Roasted Droop Core and Weak Magic Extract. That is the useful distinction: one input can have a cooking use and a separate alchemy use. Its name does not tell you that roasting is the only destination.
Before crafting, establish three things:
- The input actually says Droop Core.
- The selected output says Roasted Droop Core.
- The interface is using the Cooking recipe rather than an extract or spellbook formula.
These checks protect you from spending the right ingredient on the wrong output. They also give you a concrete starting point if the recipe does not appear where you expect it.
Build the Campfire for the cooking task
The early cooking task explicitly asks you to build a Campfire and cook a Droop Core. The tracked result is Roasted Droop Core, so collecting a raw core alone is not the same as making the requested food.

The cooking task asks for a Campfire and Roasted Droop Core. The construction entry requires 1 Wildwood Pine.
The Campfire build entry requires 1 Wildwood Pine. Its displayed [17/1] means 17 carried and 1 required; it does not mean you need 17 pieces. Read your own construction entry before building if the requirement differs in your version.
Select Campfire in the build menu, supply the listed construction material and place it. Then use the Campfire's cooking interface for the core recipe. Building the object and making the food are separate parts of the task. If the Campfire already exists, focus on the cooking result instead of constructing additional copies.
Use the Roasted Droop Core recipe
| Recipe field | Value |
|---|---|
| Output name | Roasted Droop Core |
| Crafting category | Cooking |
| Listed ingredient | 1 Droop Core |
The ingredient entry is precise, but it does not establish the food's exact stat buff, duration or output yield in every version. Read the current result tooltip for those details rather than assuming it has the same effect as another cooked meal.
Follow the cooking route:
- Keep at least one raw Droop Core available for the recipe.
- Interact with the Campfire and open its cooking interface.
- If Roasted Droop Core is already learned, select it from the recipe list.
- Read its ingredient requirement and result preview before committing.
- Craft it, then inspect the resulting item and the remaining raw cores.
If you are discovering the recipe through ingredient slots instead of a learned list, use the same named ingredient and the matching cooking context. A valid ingredient combination can craft an item and unlock its recipe at the same time. Check the result preview; do not add unrelated materials just because another recipe uses them.
Once the recipe is unlocked, the learned recipe list provides a convenient way to repeat it. You do not need to remember an experimental input arrangement each time. The important condition remains the same: you need the correct raw input in the interface that can produce the cooking result.
A missing recipe and a missing ingredient are different problems
If the recipe is listed but cannot be crafted, inspect the ingredient count first. A learned recipe records a formula; it does not supply its materials. If your stack is Droop Gelo, finding more of that stack will not satisfy a Droop Core requirement.
If Roasted Droop Core is not listed, check which crafting interface you opened and whether the recipe is learned. Cooking and alchemy can use related monster materials while producing different outputs. Seeing Weak Magic Extract in one view is not proof that the roasting recipe should appear in that same view.
The Crafting Codex can help confirm the ingredient's connections. A question mark among connected recipes means there is a connection you have not established in that interface; it is not a complete formula and does not justify guessing additional ingredient counts.
For a broader recipe-discovery problem, use the recipes guide. If the issue concerns the campfire's recipe list rather than this specific ingredient, use the campfire recipe checks. This page keeps the core-to-food conversion separate from those general troubleshooting tasks.
Keep cores for the other output you need
Before roasting your whole supply, choose the output you actually want. These are separate formulas that consume Droop Core:
| Output | Crafting category | Listed ingredients |
|---|---|---|
| Roasted Droop Core | Cooking | 1 Droop Core |
| Weak Magic Extract | Alchemy Table | 3 Droop Core, 1 Glass Vial |
| Spellbook Water Surge | Personal Crafting | 3 Dryad Eye, 5 Dryad Lock, 3 Droop Core |
Roasting is the shortest listed conversion, but that does not make it the right use for every spare core. If you are preparing an extract or a Water Surge spellbook, reserve the raw ingredient count for that formula before cooking the remainder.
Treat the raw material and the roasted output as different items. A formula asking for Droop Core does not establish that Roasted Droop Core is an interchangeable substitute. Read the exact name in the target recipe rather than relying on the shared word “core.”
You also do not need to expand this into a full spell-acquisition route. If you intend to use the resulting spellbook, the spellbook guide covers the separate acquisition and learning task. Having an ingredient for a book is not the same as already knowing or equipping its spell.
Read the food effect before relying on it
Roasted Droop Core is a nourishment food: its listed effect is to restore Nourishment. That does not establish a particular Health, Concentration, damage or resistance bonus. Inspect the crafted item's current tooltip before treating it as a remedy for one of those separate needs. The exact duration and current-version effect values remain unverified here.
Keep a small distinction in your preparation: choosing a food to address nourishment is one task; choosing an exact buff for a fight is another. The name of this recipe establishes what you can make from the core, but the actual food tooltip establishes what that item contributes when consumed.
After crafting, verify the output name and your remaining raw stock. That confirms the conversion you intended and prevents an unnoticed batch from using the cores you meant to keep for alchemy or a spellbook.
