A confirmed way to enlarge the Sanctum's building boundary is not established here. There is no verified expansion quest, NPC, material cost or menu action to follow. Do not spend resources on a supposed land upgrade or assume that constructing a Facility Center automatically widens the area.
Sanctum development can add services, improve facilities and open farming plots. Those changes are different from increasing the outer space in which buildings can be placed. If your goal is more physical building room, that distinction matters before you pursue another settlement upgrade.
Separate building space from facility development
A settlement can become more useful without its outer boundary changing. New crafting services, a larger shop inventory or additional farming plots do not by themselves establish a larger construction area. The number of available building objects is also different from a cap on the number you can place.

Existing Sanctum facilities in construction mode. This is not a land expansion action.
If an upgrade description refers to facilities, read that stated effect literally. Do not add an area expansion benefit that it does not describe. The base-building guide covers the practical facilities; this page concerns the narrower question of changing the building area itself.
Check which limit you are actually encountering
A building that will not place does not, by itself, prove that the Sanctum needs an expansion. Preserve the exact object, the location and the message or interface state you see. A specific requirement and an outer boundary are different problems, even when both interrupt construction.
Before treating the issue as a land limit, note:
- The building you are trying to place.
- The position where placement fails.
- Whether the same object can be placed elsewhere in the existing area.
- Any requirement or warning displayed by the game.
- The world and game version in which it happens.
That comparison can identify what needs investigating without guessing an expansion trigger. For a workstation requirement, use crafting station requirements. A station-specific condition should not become a reason to search for an unrelated land purchase.
Keep the world and version consistent
Buildings and recruited allies belong to the world, while the hero carries character progression between worlds. Compare a construction problem within the same world before assuming that a different settlement proves a particular expansion unlock.
A different-looking base or an older interface does not supply a present expansion procedure. In particular, an old discussion about moving the base to a different setting is not the same thing as an available option to enlarge its boundary.
The missing step is a demonstrated area expansion
An actionable expansion route needs an actual option or interaction, its prerequisites, and a visible result showing additional buildable space. Those details remain unresolved. There is therefore no reliable step-by-step land expansion route or numeric size tier to copy from this page.
Keep the current construction state intact while identifying the limit. Do not remove established facilities, reset a world or edit a save in the expectation that it will unlock more land. Once an in-game expansion action is demonstrated, its requirement and resulting boundary can be documented as a real procedure rather than inferred from general Sanctum development.
